"Marilyn: Winter Solstice" (2013)

New for 2013 is 'Marilyn: Winter Solstice.' The inspiration for this years image is a 1957 shot of Marilyn by Sam Shaw, however, as usual I've taken artistic liscense with the image to add the holiday elements.

Said Mr. Shaw of this photoshoot, "I just want to show this fascinating woman with her guard down, at work, at ease, off-stage, during joyous moments in her life as often she was - alone."

"The Colours of Christmas" (2012)

The inspiration for this piece was one of  Marilyn's many studio 'glamour shots.' However, I took artistic liscense in changing her blue eyes to green!

2003   "Under the Mistletoe"

The inspiration for this piece was one of  Marilyn's many studio 'glamour shots.'  It brings to mind Marilyn's sultry rendition of "Kiss" from the movie "Niagara."

2002   "Holly & Pearls"

The inspiration for this piece was taken from a photo by Gene Kornman, circa 1952. This is the same image Andy Warhol used for his famous depiction of Marilyn. Though you can see I've gone for a more realistic and softer approach than Andy did. And, of course I've taken artistic liberty to add the holiday elements.

2001   "Christmas Glamour"

This is my rendition of a classic Marilyn studio/glamour shot! The signed and numbered limited edition consists of three hundred prints.

As you can see, "my debut image" depicts Marilyn's 'last glamorous 'look' but I have taken artistic liberty with her dress and make-up to give her that holiday feeling.
